I remember to go watching this at the cinema back in 2002 when it was released, I was 12 years old and it scared me a lot! Then I re-watched it again one or two times more on tv, still at a younger age. Now re-watching it again and now that it doesn't scared me anymore, I could enjoy it better and it was a totally different experience. At the beginning of the film the suspense is great! We can only see shadows and hear frightening sounds. That's on of the greatest aspects of the film, it recreates the fear that human beings have from the unknown. I think this film is not a simple sci-fi film about aliens or about life in other planets but it is a film that puts you wondering about other questions like faith and what you are capable of doing for the ones you love. Are we alone in the world? Our life is based on luck? Or everything is just a coincidence? Or the signs were all there all of the time? I really love way the question is left for the characters to decide but also for us viewers. Mel Gibson and Joaquin Phoenix are both great and the two kids were absolutely amazing! I think M. Night Shyamalan deserves more consideration for having written and directed this one, I guess some people have missed the whole point of it and consider it absurd. I really enjoyed watching it again.

I guess not many people love this movie as much as I do. I love the score, the performances, the concept, the mystery. Very well executed movie by M. Night Shyamalan one of my favorites by him

This scared the crap out of me when I was a kid and it still does. The effects look a lot worse than I remember but are still passable. This deals with a lot of themes of faith that I never picked up on as a kid. I have a hard time believing Joaquin Phoenix and Mel Gibson could be brothers but they both did a good job. The ending is shot well and tense. I know some people have a problem with it but I don't.

This movie was not only terrible but very boring from beginning to end, and I like M Night Shyamalan normally (I liked the Sixth Sense) but this movie, I don't get what anyone sees in it, the characters are a bunch of idiots, the children they're children ok, but the two adults are barely adults, they're so scared throughout the whole movie even though there's nothing to be scared of. And the ending, that just makes no sense. I really don't get why they call this a thriller, there was no thrill and the mystery was only there for a couple of minutes and was not the type of mystery you really want to solve, it also wasn't scary to me at all. I really regret wasting nearly 2 hours of my time on this crap of a movie.

So, where does the movie Signs fit in? Well, it's not quite as good as The Sixth Sense or Unbreakable, but it's not quite as bad as The Happening or The Village or Lady in the Water. It's kind of in the middle. So you watch Signs, and you're like, "Hey, that wasn't... that wa More

I've seen this film many times, but what struck me most during this re-watch was the tension. From the almost inaudible scream of a distant child in the opening to the absence of a barking dog a few scenes later, this movie is just a masterclass in injecting tension in creative ways. The idea that More

_**Is it really about aliens?**_

M. Night Shyamalan's "Signs" (2002) is about a disillusioned ex-minister (Mel Gibson) who lives in the country with his son & daughter and brother (Juaquin Phoenix). The reasons for his disillusionment become clear as the story unfolds. When a mysterious crop circ More

This M. Night Shyamalan effort centers on the Hess family, who's lives are shaken by an alien invasion. The best thing about "Signs" is the dialogue between Graham and Merrill Hess, played by Mel Gibson and Joaquin Phoenix. The lessons each of them have learned about life, and how an alien invasio More
