I’d dare say masterpiece. Watched this all in one sitting a couple of days ago and I haven’t moved on one bit. They’ve been rotting my mind so I’m writing this as an outlet. Only reason I didn’t give it a 10 is because there were a lot of key plot points were just brushed over really fast and it moved very quickly but they did very good for the runtime and I really liked how it was short but high-quality throughout the entirety of the 8 forty minute episodes. I would’ve liked to see more of Seokdae as well and to get a backstory on Youngyi as well because her disappearance just didn’t make sense and apparently she isn’t even a character of the webtoon but they could’ve at least given us closure. I really like her but her scenes felt forced because she showed up out of nowhere claiming to be infatuated with Sieun and then the next episode she’s living with Sooho so that was quite weird. I guess they felt that it wasn’t necessary to build on her character but I really loved how strong she was and unafraid to speak up for herself and was even able to sympathize and offered to help Bumseok after he was so rude to her without her even knowing why just for him to step on her face like that. As much as I despise Bumseok, I also understood where Bumseok was coming from but all him and Sooho needed to do was COMMUNICATE. I’m glad Sieun didn’t beat his ass because that’s just going to make him feel more guilty and he probably would’ve been kicked out of the country at that point, sometimes we just gotta be more rational! Also, Sooho felt more of a main character than Sieun, not that I’m complaining because I absolutely loved his character. I believe they’re both deuteroprotagonists but the first part of the show focused on Sieun and I guess later on it showed how he warmed up to his friends and realized he could depend on them as well which was very heartwarming to watch seeing how he only cared about his marks at some point which was probably to prove his dad wrong but he felt right into his palms. I was kinda confused on why the dad reacted so calmly in the last episode but I believe they’ll go into that more in detail in season 2. Also.. that last ep gave me chills, that acting was absolutely phenomenal from Park Jihoon’s end (cannot believe he’s a Kpop idol) and the hallucination he had was absolutely heartwrenching. Anyway, Sooho better wake up next season even if it isn’t focused on him or else I’ll be devastated for the rest of my fucking life.
