The world is ruled by spirits, goblins, and all manner of strange creatures. Human beings are persecuted, to the very point of extinction. One day, a golem and a lone human girl meet. This is a record of the pair, one a member of a ruined race, the other a watchman of the forest. It tells of their travels together and of the bond between father and daughter.

This was a great anime. Both story and art style was unique, and without any cliches it beautifully portrays the bond between a father and a daughter. The only negative point was that it lays more emphasis on the happy parts rather than the dark past of Somali. I would definitely loved to watch another season or two of this series.

This anime portrays the father-daughter relationship perfectly. It's beautiful from every point of views, even if it looks a little childish at times. I really liked the presentation of mystical creatures/species, the world was also picturesque. But in addition to this, there was also the nuanced side, where people fear the creatures/monsters and because of this, strife arose between the monsters and humans. I'm so sorry that there is no more seasons. Because that way I won't get to know Somali's sad past either. And of course, there would be more potential in it, which is why it cries out for a 2nd season.
