What the hell is the right viewing order? I've heard Netflix actually has it right for once, so that's what I'm following.. not the order from here. 1. Serenity (pilot) 2. The Train Job 3. A true fusion of classic Sci-Fi (Buck Rogers, Flash Gordon, Star Wars, Star Trek) and old spaghetti westerns (Paint your Wagon, Rawhide). The shows creator Joss Whedon has done a remarkable job bringing us a different take on the space opera genre. A mish-mash of western style landscapes, filled with horses, cattle, ranches, sheriffs and adding a touch of space, ships, stars and what looks like (in some episodes) a Colt Single Action Army revolver as well as the multitude of other western influenced guns given an alternative 'laser' shot effect in post, all makes for a wonderful adventure aboard Serenity. The characters are wonderful, the action, tension and humor, all make for a wonderful if short lived space opera that is still loved to this day. So if anybody ever asks you if you've ever sailed in a firefly? ...Wanna? Just say "Yes Please"
