After gradually watching every episode of this show so far (4 seasons, 6x4 episodes), I can safely say that, unfortunately, this is not a good show. It's kind of like a typical US makeover series in which the actual makeover, tips, aesthetics, and so on occupy around 20% of the space, and the rest is just useless banter and slice-of-life of an extremely wealthy American family.
I mostly like what they do with the spaces, but it's hard to get behind the opulent lifestyle of everybody they feature. The resulting aesthetics are always very similar, very white and marble-y with golden accessories in the first two seasons, and turquoise-like in the third and fourth, even if the client gave other instructions (which is another thing I am not a fan of here. They might have had some discussions and some change of heart, but we wouldn't know because they never actually show any of that. As a result, Shea seems like she just ignores what the client asked for.)
In any case, I would have loved to know the costs, some practical information, and most of all, the actual timeline of a project, as it seems like that they do a mere kitchen for more than half a year while the family who owns said kitchen moves elsewhere which is crazy. I understand that there were some restraints due to covid, but a few captions would have been helpful saying things like "this was shot in 2020, then Covid hit the world, so they only actually began working in May 2021, then Shea got pregnant, here she is in her preggie self, then yes, we are in 2022 now, and Shea is no longer preggie, but wait, this shot is from 2020, sorry about that". Really, in the last two seasons, they are jumping back and forth without actually giving us indicators about the timeline, and it's very distracting that Shae is sometimes pregnant, sometimes not (they have 4 children, but we are only talking about one pregnancy here lol).
It's an okay watch to have in the background, but don't expect too much.
