I very much like these developments of tv shows that break tradition and do not get syndicated to a tv network. Just imagine what a success a tv show like for instance Firefly from Joss Whedon could have been if the continuation of the show was based on the number of worldwide views of every episode if it was uploaded to YouTube. It could still be running to this day if that was the case. When are producers gonna learn that their (paying) costumer base could be a lot bigger than just the USA? When it comes to acting, scripts and budgets than tv shows from the USA are the undefeated masters and rulers of entertainment. But the way most of them present their content to their costumer base is just unbelievable out-dated in this digital age.

Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome is a poorly made sci-fi film that adds absolutely nothing to the series. The story follows a young Bill Adama during the First Cylon War as he embarks on a secret mission to transport a scientist who has critical information about the Cylons. The acting is awful and is almost unbearable to watch. The writing is also really poor; jumping around from scene to scene without much of a through-line holding it together. And the CGI is hit and miss; as some scenes are extremely good and others are terrible. Still, the film delivers some exciting action and tries to say something about the gritty reality of war. Incredibly disappointing, Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome is a half-assed effort that fails to live up of the vision of Ronald D. Moore’s reimagined series.

I rewatched this in 2020 as I gear up for a BSG rewatch, and I gotta say, it held up nicely. It's not groundbreaking in any sense, and I wouldn't call it essential viewing for BSG fans... But it's a nice SF action adventure with some cool moments. Not as good as BSG itself, but it doesn't diminish anything about BSG, contrary to _Caprica_...

A fascinating background and prequel to the "Battlestar: Galactica" universe showing us glimpse of the first Man-Cyclon War. There is a lot of action (of course) and we see some primitive Cylons. The young actor playing Adama is actually pretty good and sounds almost like Edward James Olmos sometimes. The problem with this is that we all know what happens later in the story so while a fascinating prequel movie it would not have been interesting to follow this as a series for a long time.

I hope there will be more. Although it has not the level as the TV Series had it still looks promising and has lots of potential. After all so far it has only been roughly 100 min.

But I too fear this will die before it can grow. If you look what kind of shows do have success right now this seems pre-destined to fail.

Pity, there isn´t any good scifi on TV at all.

I would love to see it as a full TV series. Sad it's not going to come true.
