There are many adaptations to "Doupo Cangqiong" a.k.a "Battle Through the Heavens" ; this might not be the best one but it is interesting in its own way.

It is very rare to have a H.A.R.E.M in a chinese show which are mostly female centric and reverse harem ; this & Joy of Life are the only unique Novels in that aspect while JOL has moderate romance (without harem) this one has neither harem nor a single romance.

Among all the potential interests only Xiao Yi Xian aka Poison Fairy (and her father) is interesting and looked more romantic (unhinged though) ; the Medusa (Queen) .. X'uner .. Yun Yun & Nalan are all an enigma which their character and romantic feeling not expressed well . Li Qin done a better job than rest of the girls and her role here is better than JOL

I loved Lin Yun's cute dimples but the X'uner character was such an under representation ; she only fights when told to & otherwise is not there at most critical times and appear after all damage is done... the occasional jealousy might have bought some humor but never really developed into full fledged romance and it looks more sibling love than anything [spoiler] but in Novel she was second wife[/spoiler].

Xi Zheli (Medusa ) seems to be getting these silent roles ; loved her Doo Duo role in JOL but very under represented .. same here.. such a potential waste for [spoiler] first wife [/spoiler]

The CGI is either a hit and miss ; the fights are badly choreographed with us seeing only half side's in a duel and the background characters are just high school kids dressed up to stand (can't even pretend to fight lol ). The last fight was terrible u can see they missed lot of people in long shots .

Anyway this was a good watch and possibly got me hooked into reading the manhua now ....It's really good if you don't relate it with the comic or novel
