I was looking for a new anime to watch, and among the suggestions, Prime Video recommended this one, even though it's not a recent release. Honestly, the lack of an Italian dub almost made me give up on it. And yet? I ended up binge-watching all the episodes without being able to stop.

This isn’t one of those anime that hooks you with spectacular special moves or jaw-dropping plot twists. Instead, it tells a story filled with emotions, passions, and the struggles life throws at us, seen from the perspective of both a seventeen-year-old girl and a man in his forties. It’s a portrait of real life, told with an emotional intensity that hits you straight in the heart.

Perhaps if I had watched this in my twenties, I wouldn’t have appreciated it as much. But now, at the "ripe old age" of forty-three, I have to say it really struck a chord with me. She’s a young student, he’s the manager of the restaurant where she works, but there’s so much more to the story. Their dreams, their hopes, and their insecurities intertwine in a profound way.

And yes, maybe the ending might leave some people feeling a bit unsatisfied, but personally, I found it meaningful and fitting.
