Yeah, this is pretty much a waste of time. Doesn't feel Christmasy, doesn't have a funny line in the thing. Yuck.

Definitely peak Colbert. Apart from the political nature of his character, this special let him focus on what makes the character more than just a Bill O'Reilly parody -- Colbert's commitment to absurd, goofy humor. The song were amusing. As a Jew, I especially enjoyed the "Can I Interest You in Chanunkah" duet with Jon Stewart. John Legend's nutmeg song was something of a lowlight, but everyone else did admirably at worst, and hilariously at best. And in the case of the closing song with Colbert and Costello, it was even just a bit moving. This is a fun outing from Colbert, who takes himself anything but seriously here, and revive the goofy holiday spirit that keeps you smiling throughout.
