Tom Poole began his career in London at The Mill. He moved to the United States in 2004 in order to help start The Mill New York’s telecine department. Three years later, he joined Company 3 and has since become one of the industry’s most sought-after commercial and feature colourists. Poole has longstanding collaborations with major directors such as Nicolas Winding-Refn, Derek Cianfrance, Steve McQueen, Scott Cooper, and Bennett Miller. His commercial clients include Nike, Adidas, Under Armour, Mercedes, Audi, and PlayStation. Poole was recognised with two 2019 AICP awards for ‘Best Commercial Colour Grading Over 90’ on National Lottery ‘Amazing Starts Here’ and ‘Best Music Video Colour Grading’ for The Carters ‘Apes**t.’ In 2017, he received the AICP ‘Best Commercial Colour Grading Over 90’ award for Squarespace's ‘John’s Journey’ and in 2016, the ‘Best Colour Grading’ award for the Adidas ‘Future’ campaign. In 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2017, he was recognised with the Hollywood Post Alliance Award for Outstanding Colour Grading in Commercials. Poole’s feature credits include Drive, I Tonya, The Place Beyond The Pines, Foxcatcher, and the Academy Award-winning Best Picture winners 12 Years a Slave and Spotlight.
