Emma Higgins is one of Canada's brightest emerging talents, born and raised in Vancouver, Canada. Developing her craft from a young age while working in different positions throughout the film industry, she has honed a unique voice and understanding of the film making process. Now accomplished in her own right, her visionary approach to music videos has made her one of the most sought after directors in her field, making videos for some of the country's top artists and gaining views in the millions. Her passion for story telling is obvious in her videos and short films which have garnered significant critical praise, including Best Short Film at the 2011 Oregon Film Festival ,Best Music Video at the 2014 Los Angeles Reel Film Festival, Best video nominee at the 2015 BCCMA's, Best new artist video at the 2016 MMVA's, Official Selection AGLIFF 2011, Best Director Nominee at the 2015 BCCMA's, official selection Palm beach Women's Festival, Official selection Sacramento Horror Festival and official selection at the 2011 CFC Short film festival. Her work has been featured on international broadcast television including features on Entertainment Tonight, Billboard Music Awards, CTV, Much Music, CMT, MTV and many more. In 2015 Higgins was awarded a BravoFACT grant for her original short film “Currency” (2016) and was selected for the Bell Media Sound and Vision film challenge with her short film “God Hates a Coward” (2016). With several feature length scripts currently in development, Higgins has now set her sights on directing her highly anticipated debut feature.
