After serving as assistant cameraman for only two films—one of which was Disimpang Djalan (1955) directed by The Teng Gan (TG The)—he was appointed as a full-time cameraman in the film A Thousand Steps (1957) Starting his career in the film industry in 1955 with the film . In 1957 he acted as a cameraman in the film Turang, produced by Rentjong Film Corp., this film won awards for Film, director, supporting actor, and artistic arrangement at FFI 1960. Since then his career as a cameraman has continued.
