Lower budget but it wasn't bad until it becomes intensely frustrating. The quick build to the beginning of the outbreak was well done and the move in of the military believable-ish. It got annoying once the quarantine set in.

The rapid decline of quality and quantity of food was weird. If you want people to stay put, providing adequate food and water is an easy and basic move. The military gun down a few people in cars early on but this has little impact on the main characters who continue to give attitude every time the military people show up. It's a little hard to tell how long the quarantine is happening and seems to only be a few days (based on news reports and some other things) but the characters behavior is so hostile and catty it might as well have been months?
The military manage to shoot several people throughout the quarantine until they aim at the teenage boy... when they develop the shooting skills of a stormtrooper and suddenly can barely hit a wall. In other reviews I've seen people blaming the boy for releasing the zombies, but the infection had already spread beyond the town based on the fact that the initial nursing home infection wasn't stopped nor did they know how it began there. He definitely screwed the town but only because the military lost the ability to aim. If they could still actually hit anything they could have killed all the zombies in the trailers. Once the military flees (?) the characters are still weirdly passive, and make some very stupid choices, but at least there are finally zombies!
You can pretty much predict where things are going from the first 15 min or so (including the ending), which isn't necessarily bad, but **wow** do the characters do some very **very** dumb things. The little girl becoming a zombie is given away by the movie poster, so you're pretty much just waiting for her to get it. You honestly forget that she's in the movie 90% of the time and the incident doesn't happen until close to the end.

The sound is good, the special effects (blood, etc.) are fine but take forever to happen. The acting is good as well, though the script is... not great. Subtitles seem accurate and don't fade into the background so you can actually read them. Three stars for being watchable but the character choices are soooo frustrating. An extra star for having the backbone to zombify off the little kid when they do something so epically stupid. 4/10
