After 20yrs this struggles quite a bit to stay decent especially when you have the Resident Evil franchise that has not aged at all and is still
Awesome to this day.
Underworld was really good back in the day being the Vampire,werewolf, Matrix hybrid that it is, but now two decades later it seemed like a Hella of a lot of lifting and definitely seemed to drag out towards the second act,
It probably didn't help that I was watching the
Unrated-extended cut
edition with an extra
20 mins added to the running time but boy I was definitely grinding that last hour out.
Everyone was awesome in their roles, Kate/Selene was brilliant and very easy on the eyes, although I wasn't that invested in the hole love thing going on, but I get it they had to mirror the past to set up the plot of the story with the Victor daughter drama.
But when it got down to the two races duking it out at the end it was all pretty cool and thrilling, just took a long way round the houses to get their.
Their is no denying that this movie is very stylish and clearly knows what it is and what it wants to be.
All in all not a bad watch but sadly I fear it ain't going to hold up to a view in another10 years.
But I will always have fond memories of it from 2003 when literally this was the best of it's type and definitely was at the top of being a cool,slick Awesome
action movie without an equal at the time.
