Another great film by Alfred Hitchcock, the master of suspense. The story is interesting throughout the entire film and the soundtrack compliments the film very well. This is definitely one of the best Hitchcock films and I would highly recommend it if you haven't seen it, this is one of those films that definitely has re-watch value.

Light-hearted, witty, exciting but not too over the top

"I know you ought to be spanked with a hairbrush and sent back to school - public school - where they could pound some sense into you during recess." Grace Kelly and Cary Grant directed by Alfred Hitchcock can only mean one thing, you're getting a damn entertaining movie and that is what To Catch a Thief is. It isn't anywhere near Hitchcock's best work but it is solid. You get a fun story in the French Rivera, you get some great shots, you get the beautiful Grace Kelly, you get the presence of Cary Grant, you get poker chips being dropped in naughty places, you get rooftops chases, you get a car chase, you get some swimming and a bit of mystery and a very obvious Hitchcock cameo. Even on a rewatch this movie is just mid Hitchock. But mid Hitchcock is still great.

Fluffy mystery-romance-thriller excels thanks to the wonderful charms of Cary Grant and Grace Kelly. For me, this is a lesser Hitchcock film but still had plenty of fun and entertainment value even though there's nothing really noteworthy in terms of the story or any particular scene. **3.75/5**

Cary Grant is on excellent form in this ultra-sophisticated crime caper. Having long since retired to life on the Côte D'Azur, "John Robie" finds himself at the centre of enquiries as his "Cat" appears to have resurrected itself and is robbing rich folks of their jewels. John Williams again steals More

The big man was in jovial mood with this one.

To Catch A Thief, is, when all is said and done, a softer entry on the great Alfred Hitchcock's CV. By his own admission it was a film he viewed as "lightweight", but such is the great mans talent, his softer cinematic efforts still punch the buttons More
