Did the father have wives of 3 different asian nations, or was it just crappy casting?

@kanootcha would you ask the same if they were white though... I think it's great, I really enjoyed the little sister and main character :)

@aneemelia I sure would...If they cast a Germanic, a Mediterranean, and a Celtic white as sisters. This is just as noticeable IMHO.<br /> BTW I'm not an SJW, I don't care about race, this was just bad casting. That being said though, I agree the actors cast were very good at their roles, particularly the lead and the younger sister, as you said!

@kanootcha Honestly I wouldn't notice it then either, and I didn't even think about it watching this movie, and I actually am asian! Not saying being a SJW is a bad thing, I enjoy people bringing up matters that actually matter. I keep seeing movies/series from America, and later I learn that some of the actors are English or Australian and they just put on an american accent for that role. I think that's fine, even though they're from different "nations." I don't get making a big deal of something that isn't. But I mean, we all notice different things, and you probably just thought it was weird that they didn't cast from the same asian "country". I don't care, that just mean more representation for asians haha :)

@aneemelia Fair enough. I wouldn't normally bring this type of thing up, but in this case I did as it was hard to suspend my disbelief because it was so obvious to me... and I'm not even asian...hahaha. I'm aussie, and most of the time I can't tell when another aussie is playing an american, but that's because aussies, americans and english are all a mixed gene pool of celtic and germanic whites (mostly). :D

@kanootcha When you're mixed race it is entirely possible to look different from your siblings.
