I remember seeing this movie in the mid 1980's on ITV in the UK (and a few subsequent repeats for a few years after). Ive recently rewatched this for the first time in around 37 years and I still have a little fondness for it. I even have an old copy of the VHS Rental version. Has it aged well, not really, but ticks a few boxes - Egypt/Mythology (Tick). Some random annoying campus kids getting in the way and coming a cropper (Tick). Some over the top expressions of surprise and horror (Tick) and some flesh eating gloop (Tick).

I've rated it a Good. OK, the actings a bit ropey in places and far-fetched, but ultimately this has one of those 1980's TV Movies classic appeal.

[spoiler].. and turns out the mummy is an Alien (if you hadn't seen that coming from early on) that needed to collect all the bits to help him (presumably) get back home! Guess this all adds to the theory that ancient Egypt had help from Aliens - but that's a whole other topic![/spoiler]

I did like the very presumptuous "TO BE CONTINUED ...." splash in the credits - Given the overall flop of the film, this obviously never made it and remains a mystery as to what happened next!
