Wifey and I have four cats whom all roam the wilderness around our house, and all of them bring home ticks from time to time. Wifey is getting rather proficient in removing them, wrapping them up in tissue paper, hitting said paper with a hammer, then lighting the whole thing up in the fireplace. She absolutely hates ticks, and when I suggested this for this evening's entertainment, she gave me one of those looks... yeah... you know the one. The "Don't you dare... I'll kill yah" look...

So... here we are... in the middle of the night... because I had nothing better to do (no need for sleep when you got a film waiting)... watching Ticks... and having a blast.

I have loved this film since the first time I saw it on VHS back in "those" days. On the recommendation of my favourite video store clerk, Monica, of course. I guess you have to be of a certain age to remember the video store... and the clerks, but back then everybody that were interested in film, had a "Monica". They were slightly older than you, with great knowledge of what were on their shelves, and of course... what you needed to watch. Great times... Great times... but I digress...

Ticks!!! Ticks is a film about juiced up, giant, marijuana infused ticks that stalks and kills kids on a wilderness camp. It all ends in a "fiery explosion" of blood and...other things. It's not a masterpiece, but hilarious and gloriously entertaining in that early 90s way. Ticks should be on the watchlist of any self-respecting lover of creature features... especially the crawling kind. As I said somewhere up there in the ramblings... I love this!!! So... Get it!!! Watch it!!! Love it!!!

Watched in glorious 4K with the stunning release from Vinegar Syndrome. Sometimes they get it so right it's not even funny...
