The movie isn´t bad at all. DeNiro is doing a great job. It just left me a little confused about what Levinson motivation and intentions were regarding the portrayal of Madoff. The movie shows more about what Bernies actions did to his family then about his victims. Madoff is still serving his sentence and from what I´ve read he is doing well even making deals inside prison. So why put him in the focus of a movie ?

Madoff was a scapegoat, if ever there was one, just like all big scandals. And now we are supposed to feel sympathy for him and his family? That's what this film seems to portray.

I couldn't be bothered finishing it. The acting was good, but I didn't think there was enough happening in the storyline. Also when Madoff became like a grumpy old man he started to annoy me. I also didn't like how they kept jumping timelines around, instead of following the rise/deals and then fall/capture of Bernie in a linear fashion. You might like it more than me though.

This is a hard movie to watch. It's dark, it's about people having their lives torn apart, and it's all the more chilling because it's based on a historical/non-fiction novel of the same name. The acting is masterful, the actors disappear into their characters, the story is well thought out and delivered. It's timely and it's sobering. A piece of history worth knowing - and eerily reflective of another family (nation) living under the tyranny of a powerful, sociopathic, con man. I give this film an 8 (gripping reality) out of 10. Entertaining enough, but not sure it really captures the events (even recognising this is a made for TV dramatisation). And it doesn't really explore the damage he did to so many people.

While it's always great to see De Niro and Pfeiffer, the movie itself is laughable, I imagine this is what a Lifetime movies are like.

It seems like every dialogue in the movie is written purely by some newspaper articles. Now when I think about it, the whole movie is like those cringey dramatisation scenes in a documentaries.

I should have known this movie was not for me. Like when Oprah goes shopping and they tell her she is too black to be in this store. White people can commit any crime they want. Even say they like to grab women's vaginas and run for president. They wouldn't even let Oprah buy a purse!
