This film adaption of Spiderwick Chronicles is pretty much like A Series of Unfortunate Events. Where it shoves multiple books into one movie. A Netflix series would probably also do the books more justice. However I really enjoy this movie due to a wonderful cast, plenty of magic and a fine musical score by the late great James Horner.

I saw this movie for the first time tonight and I liked it. The plot was probably the same as other movies I've seen, but it's fantastic nonetheless. I knew some of the actors such as Freddie Highmore (The Good Doctor, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), Seth Green (The Interview, The Green Hornet) and Ron Perlman (Police Academy).

This was due to leave on a streaming app, and as there's now a series, thought I'd watch it. 30m in, I thought Wow! Who are all those great looking, great acting kids (for an old movie)? Did they continue, lol. (Freddie Highmore). I really enjoyed it. It's kinda old now, and subsequently cheesy, but still enjoyable (and a bit terrifying!) 😂
