I have never been able to forgive the makers of this film for ruining a great story and turning it into a joke of a movie that has nothing to do with it's original origins and aside from a few names, shares nothing with the short story upon which it is supposed to be based.

I urge everyone to check out The Running Man by Richard Bachman (AKA Stephen King's pseudonym) as it is a gripping read and a million times better than this dirge.

I only gave it 4/10 and I feel like I'm being generous because I did see it as a kid in the cinema back in the day and have fond memories of going to watch films with friends almost every weekend... Call me a soppy old git I guess. :)

Another classic Arni, Another one from my childhood and I still very much enjoyed it now.
Arni's movies age so well and are still very very entertaining and this is no different.
I miss how movies use't to be before all this
sjw,woke pc bull-shit. When movies just
concentrated on being Awesome, fun and
kicked ass, instead of kicking out an Agenda like most do this day and age.

That's why I love Arni movies so much as you are guaranteed good solid entertainment and a damn
good time.

I would've loved to see Schwarzenegger rip out Richard Dawson's god-damn spine.

Anyway, first time rewatching Paul Michael Glaser's Running Man and it is still so damn fun. I love that they almost got 2017 right, I love the deep-fake videos, this version of Sub-Zero should be a hidden character in the next Mortal Kombat, I love the one-liners, I really enjoy Richard Dawson in this, especially the scenes with the old lady, the airport scene was fantastic and the outfits are classic.

The Running Man is a fantastic 80's cheesy action movie that will never fail to entertain someone. A lovely rewatch.

This is a tricky one to critique, because it's devastatingly stupid in every single imaginable way, but that's also precisely what makes it such a silly, reckless good time. In many ways it's the prototypical Arnold Schwarzenegger action vehicle: tons of bad one-liners, genuinely awful action sets, a romantic subplot with zero chemistry and a retreaded sci-fi premise are only the most glaring notes on its loaded rap sheet. That he's backed by two of the genre's most notorious overactors in Jesse Ventura and Jim Brown just amplifies the insanity, while a carefree, pun-loaded screenplay is only too happy to take advantage.

Former Family Feud host Richard Dawson is noteworthy as the conniving silver age comic book villain behind the whole mess, a role he clearly loved playing. Mind-numbingly simple and eye-poppingly profane, it's the best bad movie you'll see all month.

Better than I remembered. What I remember as ridiculousness turned out to be a chilling predictions about society as well things like the deep fake videos and trash TV. This movie is a good balance of depth to action cheese as well as sociology to satire. It's never feels slow. Richard Dawson nailed it as Damon.

**Part of my 2022 Action Wednesdays**

I guess this could just as well been a part of my Sci-Fi Tuesdays, but to me, The Running Man has always been an action movie first and foremost, and… I just got this on Blu-ray and didn't want to wait to see it.

I truly love the book The Running Man by Richard Bachman (Pen name for Stephen King), which only have a passing resemblance to what became this Schwarzenegger action movie, but that might be why I manage to like both of them. The movie is so different that they can both be good.

The biggest difference between the book and the movie, is the fact that this movie does NOT take itself very seriously. It actually flirts with parody in a few cases. This is totally different in the book, which is rather serious in its tone.

Well...enough about that. There are of course the usual Arnie things here. The cheesy one liners, the strong man fights, etc etc., but it's all very entertaining. When the show starts, it rarely lets up until the end.

The Running Man is a cheesy action extravaganza. Well worth a watch!!!
