The Rage: Carrie 2

Some good cinematography, some bad CG, and it's very 90s, but it basically works as one of those "it happened again" kind of sequels.

Expectations are often a key aspect of how you feel about a movie, and I really didn't expect anything from this sequel to "Carrie." Accordingly, I was pleasantly surprised at the end. Even though it's a rather superfluous and pointless sequel, the movie itself is still pretty enjoyable. On a positive note, I would emphasize that the main character, Rachel, is not a simple copy of Carrie but is given a significantly different characterization. Leading actress Emily Bergl also does an excellent job overall. And even if the plot does drag on for quite a long time, at least the finale is a surprisingly brutal highlight that makes the movie worthwhile on its own. All in all, with the right expectations, "The Rage" is a decent 90s horror film that doesn't come close to living up to the original but is still worth a recommendation for fans of the genre.
