Probably my favorite version of The Christmas Carol. It's really just about a perfect family Christmas film. Michael Caine is able to pull off the cruel and miserly Scrooge as well as display the regret and despair that is so important in making Ebenezer's turn feel fulfilling. Add in great muppet versions of the supporting characters and some very good, if not great, songs and you have a classic. It has laughs, but more importantly for this time of year, it has heart and warmth. I love it.

Shows how boring critics are, that this isn’t certified fresh. Has great music, fine sets and Michael Caine in good form as Scrooge. Just the perfect Christmas family film.

[9.0/10] *A Christmas Carol* is sobering, it is frightening, it is heartening, and in the right hands, it is also hilarious. For such a frequently-adapted work, that cacophony of tones makes it surprisingly hard to perfect. Lean too much into the mirth, and you lose the terror of the ghost story. Le More

There are certainly one or two toe-tappers in this enjoyable Muppetisation of the immortal Charles Dickens tale of Christmas humbug and redemption. "Gonzo" adopts the role of the author/narrator and guides us through this (pretty heavily) abridged version of the story as Michael Caine's arch-miser " More

It's been a long time since I saw this film.
Got to see it at the cinema today, and it brought back joyous memories!

Out of all the previous adaptations on A Christmas Carol, this version is my favorite!
