Back when my family first got cable, in 1980s, this was one of the films shown at least 3 times a week. My father said "this film is made by the same people who made Airplane, so you should like it". (Airplane was, as far as I was concern, the funniest movie EVER!!! Funnier than "that movie with the ape that gives you a finger and punches out bikers").
Since it was quick sketches, it could keep the attention span of even my most Hyperactive of friends. (Back when kids were Hyperactive and not ADHD or ADD). And the humor was low brow and funny.

In honor of the passing of Donald Sutherland, I went back and rewatched the film - the first time in almost 45 years. (I dont remember him being in the movie - its because his total screen time is about 15 seconds, at max). As I was watching the film, I had one of my Mandela Effect solved - for decades, I was convinced there was a movie called Cleopatra Schwartz. But everyone was "nope - no movie like that" Turns out, this film has a "coming soon" trailer for the fake movie. I also started to remember some of the other sketches ("Science in the world" about what wouldnt exist / the newscasters watch you / Death). And I spotted one of the scene stealers from Airplane in a small role.

Now, reading some of the other comments, I can see that this isnt a movie for everyone - nor should it be shown to a certain age group who would clutch the pearls, in offense and outrage. But, like Blazing Saddles, it was a product of its time, and appealed the the humor of the people at that point in history. And should be enjoyed by people who are not going to go into a rant about how what it does wrong.
