From Universal comes the sci-fi/horror thriller _The Invisible Ray_. The story follows a scientific expedition into the jungles of Africa to find a meteor deposit, but exposure to the meteor drives one of the scientists mad. Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi lead the cast, however Karloff gives a rather phoned in performance. But then the script isn’t very well-written and gets bogged down in a bunch of scientific jargon that doesn’t really matter. Still, there are some tense and suspenseful scenes as the scientist goes mad and plots revenge. Yet while it has its moments, _The Invisible Ray_ is a generic and forgettable revenge film.

The Invisible Ray (1936) feels like the acting chops from the two icon leads was nowhere to be seen. Besides their invisible acting, it's a B level classic of the 40s. Worth a watch.
