Another great one directed by Robert Wiene of Caligari fame. So far the earliest example i’ve seen of the “misbehaving murderous transplant” trope, although - as is to be expected in a Wiene flick - this stuff is leaning heavily towards psychological horror territory. Spectacular performance by Conrad Veidt as an appropriately frightening embodiment of Paul Orlac’s tormented soul.

This is a great amalgam of genres that shows off Conrad Veidt's skills to a tee. He portrays a classical pianist ("Orlac"), renowned throughout the world until he is involved in an horrific train crash and only just survives. His hands, however, do not.
