For the problems in show here, this is a heart-warming film. A topic that may not sit easily with some but one that is very relevant given today's opening towards LGBTQIA+ folks. An interesting story from one of the most backward places in the US at a time when different met no tolerance. Acting is patchy but there's a whole lot of performance by the main cast. A brave film. 7/10
