As generic as it's title! The first act had so much potencial with Russell Crowe basically filming *The Pope's Exorcist* and weird stuff happens on set, add a bit of meta and this could've been something special. Second act hits and still no meta in sight, it just turns into the most generic cliché movie we've had all year. A real shame. Russell Crowe's guilt ridden character is actually layered and interesting in that first act but they do nothing with him after that, he basically becomes mindless and so does the script. The father wanting to get his daughter's love back aspect was also interesting. The director character was very effective, he says some real mean stuff and knows how to get under your skin, really elevated Crowe's character. Sam Worthington was there for some reason, maybe he lost a bet or something? About 30 minutes too long for the schlock that it is. Horrible acting from Ryan Simpkins in the last act. Laughable ending.

Like making a devil's food cake by dumping ingredients in a bowl and then abandoning it, but expecting it to come out as anything better than half-baked. Also, as an alcoholic with 13+ years sobriety and a gay daughter, I found the treatment of addiction and lesbian relationships to be very gratuitous and voyeuristic.

I had very high expectations for this movie. All of these dreams were dashed. You make a movie and work to see how bad you can make it, that's exactly the logic. If you can't find a movie to watch, go watch it. It wouldn't be watched otherwise. The plot is classic, the acting is okay, but the scenes are very slow and not steady. Still, thanks for your efforts.

Truly a fever dream of a movie, made by someone obviously without a carbon monoxide alarm in their apartment. Would rather hammer toothpicks under my toenails than watch this again

"The Exorcism," directed by Joshua John Miller (the son of Father Karras), is a 2024 horror film that promises more than it delivers. The plot is overly simplistic, stretching 90 minutes with only about 20 minutes of relevant story. The film flashes to a troubled past but fails to delve deeper, leav More

Clearly the Pope wasn't so impressed with Russell's last outing as his exorcist so abandoned the project to some new producers who have decided he might do better as an dissolute actor ("Anthony") cast to play a priest who is an exorcist. Unbeknown to him, though, we know that the studio set is home More

Oh dear, poor Russel Crowe. He's a more than decent actor, so its a shame to see him in a film this uninspiring.

Washed up alcoholic actor with PTSD (as a result of church based child abuse) takes on the lead role of priest in an Exorcist horror film, only to become the subject of his own demon More
