The young couple Nora and Alec are on their way back from a long road trip. In a desert town they want to take a break, but when they wake up the next morning, they are no longer in the motel where they had actually checked in. Overnight, the by a group of crazed killers wearing animal masks, have been abducted. What would happen if people were treated like cattle for slaughter? On the farm, this horrific idea comes true. As Nora and Alec soon find out, they are not the only ones locked in cages, fattened up and fed only to be slaughtered, disemboweled and eaten as a delicacy by their torturers. For the young couple begins a fight for bare survival.

A small budget Hostel where the torture porn is replaced by loud music. The idea was great, but the execution was laborious.

As the comments below suggest, this isn't a great film. But 1 out of 10? That's a bit harsh. It's quite well made, and for fans of the original Texas Chainsaw, this movie might appeal with its similar unrelenting bleakness and nastiness. It's also a good advert for veganism, as by treating its human victims like farm animals, the movie might make you think twice before eating a burger again.

This is what happens you create a film for shock value. Flat characters, terrible acting, little plot. How a movie about cannibalism managed to be this dull is beyond me. I don’t know what statement this movie was trying to make, if any, but I didn’t last long enough to find out.

It occurred to me that a great premiss for a horror movie would be if a killer dispatched people in the same manner that humans do for taste pleasure, entertainment, experimentation, et cetera. Turns out someone had the same idea.

Yeah there's the _Texas Chainsaw_ of it all, and even originality aside _The Farm_ is not that great, but you can feel the commitment to the gore effects.

_Final rating:★★½ - Had a lot that appealed to me, didn’t quite work as a whole._
