Not bad. The acting was good and the camera fairly steady for good chunks of the film. The gore was well done and had some nicely spooky moments. The real disappointment is that you never see the Entity. It is completely blurry even when there is a full frame shot of it. The camera also becomes very shaky (much less steady) whenever the more overt supernatural stuff is happening. This lack of creature, and irritating camera movement when things are really horrific, destroys the best moments and keeps the movie from being only okay and not great.
The plot itself consists of a group of classmates/friends in a film class needing to create a documentary to pass the class. They decide on a doc covering reaction videos on the internet. The basic premise and characters for the film are introduced quickly which is great and doesn't waste any of the watchers time with unnecessary exposition on things. The friends end up watching a reaction video of people watching an unseen video and becoming horrified. One of the classmates realizes she knows one of the people in the reaction video and she talks everyone into trying to interview the people in the reaction video. The friends go to the house of the one known person in the video and find out .... dun-dun-duuuuuuuunnnnn... that everyone in the reaction video is dead! (Totally a surprise. Really.) The classmates pick up the brother of one of the dead people and from there decide to _Investigate!_ From there the plot goes down familiar paths as they discover the video that the dead people watched and the group starts dying. If you have seen a lot horror movies you can figure out what will happen very early on, including predicting the attempt at a slight plot twist at the very end. Note: at one point the crew mentions filming in 3D and actually has the cameras to do so, however the movie is not in 3D at any point. I'm not sure if there is a 3D version out in the world somewhere but there is a chance.
The good: good acting, clear speaking audio from what I can tell (I watched this with subtitles since I don't speak the language), the gore effects are well done, overall production value is high, some nicely spooky moments. The bad: the creature is just a blur, the shaky camera is extremely annoying when a lot of the spooky stuff happens. The okay: the overall plot and mediocre body count. 5 out of 10.
