This is a damn good film but takes it's sweet time to get good.

One issue I find is that you're never really "introduced" to characters, they just start throwing around 10-20 names in one scene and it can all be too much. However, with prior knowledge of the play or if you pay keen attention you can get a grasp of who is who quite quickly.

The play and this film tell amazing stories that are quite touching. These events were _roughly_ real and the fact that people believed some of this stuff is mind-blowing. I chose to watch this because of the good memories I had of it from high school and being forced to read the book (Obviously I only watched the film) and this watch was more enjoyable that I could remember.

The acting of the girls was sometimes cringey, especially during the scenes in the court. But the way that these events were dramatised in the name of entertainment was purely perfect. The people used in this are real people, real names but some nice information to find out was that Abigail Williams was actually 11 when she first accused someone (who was actually Tituba) of witchcraft, and John Proctor was 60 at the times of the trials, crazy. But the way the relationship between those two was written was amazing and totally believable.

The ending, with John Proctor choosing to save his name over his life, was truly an emotional time. The acting was amazing and really moved me. The final thing that pushed those tears out my eyes was seeing poor old Francis Nurse breaking down at his wives hanging, truly heart wrenching stuff.

Definitely a great film and I absolutely recommend watching it, might wanna find subtitles though, the old english is sometimes hard to catch.
