So overly early 00s horror. Tons of badly placed techno, nods to older horror and scenes that make absolutely no sense or have any reason to be there but well, that's this movie. This really isn't great, but some characters at least help make this less garbagey than it is. You could do worse watching this but you could also do way better (Night of the Demons, Killer Party, literally anything else)

This really wears its '80s-horror influence on its sleeve; the obvious examples being _Night of the Demons_ (1988), and _The Evil Dead_ (1981).

_The Convent's_ inclusion of a single character seen only at the beginning and end of the film is basically all that separates it from being a shot-for-shot remake of _Night of the Demons_. Which I gues doesn't sound so bad in theory, I mean, I like that movie, so ripping it off isn't the worst idea More
