Pretty bad, really. I didn't care about most of the characters and the plot was boring. It's also sexist and ableist. Some of the kills were okay and the canoe race was fun. There's just not much to recommend this one, though.

"God bless her mom and dad." Tom Savini is still the man for practical effects. I always enjoy seeing his work. Totally forgot Jason Alexander is in here! And he isn't Costanza yet! He's a happy young man! Brian Backer is here too! He was off to a great start for an acting career with The Burning and after that Fast Times at Ridgemont High! Not many actors can say that! We even get a young Holly Hunter and Fisher Stevens. That is another great thing about these horror movies from the 80s, so many actors got their start in these movies! Anyway it has been awhile since I've seen the Burning and damn that raft scene is still epic. And Crospy is still a great killer. His weapon is still very original. I also forgot how mean these kids were! And I still very much enjoy the Camp setting for Slasher movies. So, if you haven't seen the Burning yet it is definitely worth checking out!

I must admit that I fell asleep for about 10 minutes while watching this movie, but I woke up at the perfect moment, the famous killing scene, and I felt both confusion and fear. I mean, imagine waking up to that! Also, I was so shocked to see a young Jason Alexander and Holly Hunter before their careers peaked.

ai yi yi... Why do I keep watching this tripe? I guess "back in the day" (that would be the late 1970's - 1980's) movies like this were all the rage but it's hard for me to comprehend this pablum being considered "good" even back then. The acting was so incredibly bad, the dialogue, the script, the More

Decent “Friday the 13th” knockoff

This came out a week after “Friday the 13th Part 2” in 1981 and contains all the staples of that blossoming franchise: disfigured killer, iconic weapon (in this case, garden shears), summer camp, camp counselors, a prank gone wrong, swimming antics, deep More

MGM, the Weinstein brothers and none other than Corky Burger have joined forces to bring us this rather weak and derivative attempt at fraternity-horror. "Cropsy", the pretty unpleasant caretaker at a lakeside holiday camp is the victim of a rather cruel prank perpetrated by some spoilt, immature, y More

This is a well made slasher, surprising it didn’t get a sequel.

Makeup and special effects made by the master Tom Savine are really great as usual. It’s a shame that the killer’s full appearance is only shown in the ending, which causes impact for sure (you’re not really expecting THAT mu More
