***Terrifier*** is terrifying! David Howard Thornton as Art the Clown truly is terrifying, we witness the rise of a great antagonist on the path of becoming a horror icon. He's unpredictable, demented and charismatic in a twisted way. The selfie, him pulling out a gun out of nowhere, the finger, the honk trumpet, all the funny faces... he never speaks but says his one-liners through slapstick comedy. His makeup and costume looks better than the short he first appeared in (*All Hallows' Eve*).

Despite it's low budget it still manages to pull off some amazing practical effects. The gore is extreme, off-putting and gratuitous. The "split down the middle" scene is unforgettable. My favorite moment was when he tried on that skin, that was so weird and creepy! The lighting and saturation makes this movie look so stylish. Some clever instances of editing and I dig the score it's super simple but adds energy.

Apart from David Howard Thornton who's terrific in the role the acting is bad all around. The story is non-existent it's Art being creepy and going around killing people, that's it. I felt the runtime in the second half because of that and the lack of dialogue. We get tiny bits and pieces of Art's story in between the lines but it's not enough and I hope future installments give him the story he deserves. Still, I can't deny this was a good time and it satisfies the gorehound in me.
