As so many of the reviews have stated, the only way that you would know that this was a retelling of Far From the Madding Crowd is because they reminded you a couple of times during the film. On a whole the movie is ok. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I suppose it's a blackish comedy where the characters selfish motives ultimately lead up to a "british" ending. It also sports a stunning Gemma Arterton which in itself gives one enough reason to try this movie. Jessica Bardens acting was the one that impressed me the most though. While some might find her character to raunchy, I think it fits within the theme of the film.
