Hilarious. It's funny how much of this still holds up. The end does drag on a little tough. I still think it should have ended at the graduation ceremony...

“There’s something wrong with us, something very, very wrong with us.” Stripes is a classic Bill Murray film that showcases his irreverent humor and brilliant comedic talent. Directed by Ivan Reitman, this ‘80s screwball comedy follows a group of misfits that must come together as a unit in order to pass basic training. In addition to Murray, the film has a great supporting cast that includes Harold Ramis, John Candy, John Larroquette, and Judge Reinhold. However, the film’s ‘80s R-rated comedy style is a little problematic with its gratuity and sexcapades that seem forced into the story. Yet despite a few weaknesses, Stripes holds up as a fun and entertaining romp.

I can't think about this movie without remembering a great joke I heard: "Bill Murray has been in so many great movies, like Caddyshack, Ghostbusters, Groundhog's Day, the first half of Stripes..."

An average film, with funny moments and others not so much. Unfortunately, the story doesn't spark much interest throughout the film. The characters seem generic, probably to make criticisms about the type of people who join the army, but they could have been developed in a more interesting way.

An '80s comedy from the director, and two stars of _Ghostbusters_ (1984); how could this not be great? I'm going to blame the writer, because the story is weak.
