Celeste Talbert is the star of the long-running soap opera "The Sun Also Sets." With the show's ratings down, Celeste's ruthlessly ambitious co-star, Montana Moorehead, and the show's arrogant producer, David Seton Barnes, plot to aggravate her into leaving the show by bringing back her old flame, Jeffrey Anderson, and hiring her beautiful young niece, Lori Craven.

Cute little flick that lampoons daytime television. The irony is that it falls into the same tropes as its subject matter, by design I'm sure, but those convolutions make it feel more bloated than hilarious.

Continuing my quest to watch all the movies from all my future husbands :pound_symbol:2: RDJ This was so fun. I wasn't expecting to enjoy this is as much as I did. The characters were ridiculous but the plot twists were fun. It was a great parody of soap operas. The only bad side of this was the ending, it didn't really age well. But the rest of it had great jokes and RDJ in those glasses was actually beautiful. Sally Fields crushed this role.

Ultimately, a fundamentally transphobic and therefore reprehensible movie. Until that point, it was a melodramatic yet bland and almost entirely unmemorable film.

Well this is an enjoyable flick, a good satire of all the soap tv shows and its backstage. For me it didn't have many laughing out loud moments but it was good for a 90s movie
