SO HERE WE ARE, WE FIND OURSELVES AT A QUADGILOGY OF THIS AWESOME AND VERY VERY ENTERTAINING FRANCHISE. I DID LOVE THIS ONE VERY MUCH, BUT
NUMBER 3 IS STILL THE BEST ONE OF THE HOLE FRANCHISE.
ALL THE FAMILIAR FACES ARE BACK, JUST A SHAME WE NEVER GOT AN UPDATE FROM MY MAN RANDY, WHICH I SO MISSED, THOSE WERE MY HIGHLIGHTS OF EVERY MOVIE,
WOULD HAVE BEEN SUPER AWESOME JUST TO POP HIM UP AT POST CREDITS ARE SOMETHING, BUT NO, MISSED OPPORTUNITY IF YOU ASK ME AND WITH ALL THE SILLINESS AND CRAZIENESS IT WOULD HAVE FITTED RIGHT IN.
I DID LOVE ALL THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE IN IT THOUGH AND SEEING MADDISON FROM AHS S3
POP UP FOR DUEL LEAD WAS FANTASTIC, SHE PLAYS GREAT EVIL BADDIE CRAZY AND I THINK SHE IS AN AWESOME ACTOR, EVERYBODY ELSE PLAYED THEIR ROLE TO A
T AND ONCE AGAIN WE HAD A LOT OF FUN THANX TO THEM.
SOMETIMES IT DID GET VERY SILLY BUT NO
DEAL BREAKER
ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY SAY SOMETHING SILLY WHILE GETTING GUTTED/FLAYED.
A COUPLE OF TIME'S I HAD TO REMIND MYSELF THIS IS SCREAM NOT SCARY MOVIE
ESPECIALLY WHEN THE BLACK GUY POPS UP FROM SCARY MOVIE, I WOULD HAVE PREFERRED
JAY AND SILENT BOB AGAIN
IF WE ARE GOING THAT WAY.
I THOUGHT THE BEGINNING WAS SUPERB SECOND BEST TO NUMBER 1 AND I LOVE THE TWIST AT THE END, WOW I NEVER SAW THAT COMING
WELL ON 1 OF THEM ANYWAY.
I FOUND IF YOU LOOK AT THE CREEPIEST WEIRDEST CHARACTERS....THAT'S GHOST FACE ARE AT LEAST
1 OF THEM. OVER ALL THIS WAS STILL A 10/10 EVEN WITH THE SILLY PARTS BECAUSE BY NOW WE ALL KNOW THESE MOVIE'S DO NOT TAKE THERE SELF'S SERIOUSLY AND THAT'S FINE BECAUSE WE LOVE THEM FOR THAT IT'S WHAT MAKES THEM UNIQUE AND STAND OUT FROM ALL THE MANY MANY OTHERS. PLUS WE STILL GET A GREAT INTERESTING STORY AND FANTASTIC HORROR.
GHOST FACE WILL DEFINITELY GO DOWN IN OUR HISTORY BOOKS WITH ALL THE GREATS AND FOR THAT WES WOULD HAVE BEEN SO PROUD.
I'LL TAKE ANOTHER INSTALLMENT YES PLEASE
JANUARY 14th 2022
Can't come quick enough for me SCREAM 5 hella yeah
WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE SCARY MOVIE.......
here we go again, we don't need a reason....just give us Ghost-face and off we go....

Here we have a sequel that gets a lot of unfair hate. Sure, the characters are not the most well-written ones and act stupid for most of the film and yes it feeds of nostalgia like no other, but it’s also so much fun to watch.

Like, this film is hilarious. No kidding, I can’t help but laugh throughout it because it’s so freakin‘ funny. And I‘m pretty sure it knows it’s funny.

It’s a remake/reboot/sequel hybrid that constantly makes fun of Reboot-Mania and while it uses every cliché possible it does so why winking at the audience.

And yeah, Sidney has more lives than Michael Meyers. Dewey is still incompetent as hell. Game is still the best.

The opening sequence(s) is actually kinda brilliant and so is the Killer reveal. Of course it’s not on the same level as Billy and Stu, but it’s probably my second favorite Scream unmasking, because Jill is hilariously over the top crazy and Emma Roberts goes all out on it.

I enjoy the ending and how it screws itself over with the message that the original is always better. Though it would have also been funny had Jill gotten away with it and to see what that Scream 5 would have been. Still, it’s such a fun watch during Halloween time.

**_Scream 4_ breaks the mold of the franchise, delivering brutal kills and suspenseful scenes that keep the audience engaged throughout the entire runtime.**

The story is pretty weak, requiring quite a suspension of disbelief, as is the case with the majority of the Scream sequels. The introduction of new family members of Sidney Prescott felt a little out of place, with no mention of an aunt in the previous films. But all that aside, this movie delivers on what I have been wanting throughout the entire franchise: blood, gore, and brutality. The majority of slasher films have poor plots, but that is not why you are there, you want uncensored horror. With Scream 4, the blood is cranked to a hundred, with crime scenes left with the walls repainted, intestines falling out of victims, and slits that ooze with blood with every heartbeat. Not only are the kills brutal, but our Ghostface is too. His phone calls have a tremendous amount of anger, with some lines being incredibly messed up. Overall, it was a real treat to watch. In addition, the meta-commentary worked pretty well for me unlike the previous films; I do not know if it is just a product of the times, as I was only a child when the first trilogy was released, so quite a bit of references could have flown over my head.

Much like previous films, the new characters did not do much for me. They lacked any interesting details and were merely there to be meat sacks for our killer's knife to enter, and enter they did. Hayden Panettiere was a standout, who I especially enjoyed though. Emma Roberts was okay; she never really seemed convincing in the role she was attempting to play. Neve Campbell and Courtney Cox are badasses once again; I will never get sick of seeing them kick Ghostface’s ass while attempting to avoid death. I have been pretty critical of David Arquette throughout the series, but in Scream 4, he did a great job and really added a lot to the movie.

Wes Craven did an excellent job with the direction of this film. Where Scream 3 felt generic and uninspired, Scream 4 felt like a real passion project for him, with an infusion of new ideas to keep the series fresh. It was easily my favorite directorial performance since the original.

Overall, I really enjoyed Scream 4 and think it is the first film to actually rival the original. With a slightly tighter story, this film could have easily been the best in the series.

**Score:** _70%_
**Verdict:** _Good_
