The Gill Man goes on a rampage in _Revenge of the Creature_. After being captured, the Gill Man is taken to a marine center in Florida to be studied, but doesn’t take kindly to being in captivity. Unfortunately the film spends too much time on the romantic melodrama between the scientists; which comes off as incredibly forced and contrived. And the Gill Man loses a bit of his mystique as a captured creature. Still, he gets a couple of good action scenes where he gets to wreck shop and fight people. In typical sequel fashion _Revenge of the Creature_ tries to go bigger and deliver more scares, but it doesn’t really work.

A sequel as good as the original in my opinion. Amazing soundtrack and another interesting story about the creature from the Black lagoon.

Ranks right up with the other Universal Monsters IMO. My elementary school showed it in the late 60s at a fair they held, still remember it.

This was my intro to the Gillman due to a 3D showing of it on local UHF. I still sentimentally love this movie, maybe even more than the original., though I KNOW the original is better. My full review of the trilogy can be found here: https://www.otherworldlyculture.com/archives/5705
