Different emotions when watching this movie. It starts off calmly, with a pace reminiscent of fantasy films and some children's movies, but gradually the story takes shape, and in a very subtle way, it begins to give off a strange feeling that something strange might happen. The pace remains the same throughout the movie, but the tenor of the story begins to change, gaining layers of complexity, and little by little the context and situations are revealed. Everything happens through the actions and dialogues of the two child protagonists, and the film's aesthetic is interesting because it focuses only on the children, no faces of adults are shown. The combination of all these elements reinforces this mixture of sensations and emotions, leading to a completely unexpected final act.

Word of advice: if you're looking for a genuine horror film with decent scares and gore, don't expect any of those things in this movie. "Poison for the fairies" is not a horror movie, although it was advertised as one. It was directed by the well known Mexican horror director Carlos Enrique Taboada More
