a friend of mine chose this movie for us to watch and let me tell you, at first we were just talking to each other checking our phones etc... but 5 mins in we were hooked! the acting is really good for the most part, great humour, great screenplay, you get the picture. Well if you are still reading this just stopand go watch it. (And if you like Star Trek you'll enjoy it even a lot more than a non fan like me certainly!)

The script is simple enough, but manages to give you little insight. The cast is almost too good and while I haven't followed Dakota Fanning's career closely, I've never seen her perform better.

An enjoyable and moving tale; a road trip about a young autistic girl boldly heading to LA to hand in her Star Trek script. Sensitively told, and with Fanning leading a strong cast, this is one film that probably won't live long and prosper in the long term, but still deserves a watch for anybody on their movie going journey.

Dakota Fanning plays as a young adult autistic woman who runs away from her group home to enter a Star Trek screenwriting contest at Paramount Pictures. This was one of the most realistic representations of living on the autism spectrum that I have ever seen and it was incredible to see how this character processed her emotions and learned how to interact with the world. An absolutely beautiful film I would recommend to anyone looking for a story of discovery, resilience, and triumph.

Why introduce the sweater thing as a thing at all if you're then gonna ignore it ? I don't know much about autism other than the spectrum is big and they like their routines. But I feel like those two things are huge.

Her condition would have been better portrayed as it is in The Good Doc More
