**Is Art subjective? It absolutely can be, and _Pecker_ is great in that way. Its playful jabbing and direct commentary about the Art establishment is where this film truly excels.** >Shelley: “I hate modern photography!” >… >Rorey Wheeler: “I didn’t plan it. It was difficult to get a handle on this movie. First, the main theme (the problem with capturing people on film and thus possibly intruding in their personal space) does not become apparent until at least halfway through the movie. Before that time I was wondering how I should be watching it. The script was so poor and some of the secondary actors were so bad that for a while I thought it was a farce. But it couldn't be a farce because - while it was bad - it wasn't that bad. And poor Christina Ricci - her character spent the entire movie sulking.
