Pariyerum Perumal is a powerful, hard-hitting drama of a young man oppressed by virtue of his caste. Mari Selvaraj's direction is extremely thought provoking, real and heart wrenching . Pariyerum Perumal is a great movie. The way Mari Selvaraj has handled the story, which could've easily become just another "upper caste-lower caste" drama, audaciously delves beneath the physical pain endured by the protagonist and shows us much more he's going through.

A movie which deals with how caste differences is treated in a certain community and how far some people would go due to this caste discrimination. Didnt know why this movie was rated as one of the best movies of the year but after watching it, WOW. It deserves all the good reviews. After 'Kadhal', this movie is one of the best in the genre. A highly recommended movie to watch for everyone. The messages in the movie and the details to attention were the highlight. Oh did I forget #Karupi? 9/10
