Wonderful landscapes and acting. Meryl Streep is amazing and touching. The colonial atmosphere was embarrassing at times but it's better than the book.

Lovely story. Meryl Streep is oh so subtle. Fantastic cinematography. Story of an era. I can see why Sydney Pollock is so highly recommended.

A good movie for fans of epic love stories. The movie is though also interesting due to its portrayal of Africa and colonialism at the beginning of the 20th century. Good entertainment.

Non-fiction is the genre I tend to gravitate towards, if you couldn’t already tell. There are not many stories that I haven’t enjoyed. However, almost none of those that I have enjoyed before are set in Africa and that is one of the things that drew me to this movie. In every tale about Africa, More
