To everyone saying "It sucked, it was awful, worst Jim Carrey movie ever." It's a kids movie you losers. On that scale, it was decent.

If you’re a fan of the book, don’t bother with this. It’s a complete departure from the original 1938 novel, and not even because it was modernized. It’s a highly predictable and generic plot that happens to name some of the characters after those found in the book. Personalities, events, stakes, motives, nothing else is preserved.

This film is a perfect example of what happens when movie studios choose the “safe” money making option over honoring and trusting source material. Had the titular character been kept intact, Jim Carrey would’ve done it justice and the film could’ve been a much bigger hit. Instead, I think his talents were wasted here.
