Haunting music, beautiful imagery, impeccable acting. A very good film, and while not quite Paxton's swan song, it's still good to be reminded what a fine actor he was. Kudos to young Wiggins and Nelisse too.

Rural American misery porn thriller whatever in a bleak hard contrast colourless palette where everyone except the teen main characters are so terrible it becomes ridiculous. It's not even a thrilling thriller. Everything you'd expect to happen does and then it's over. The absolute lack of nuances and yet the faux objective tone makes me feel like its part of the spoon fed all American fear machine. Fear. Anger. Money. Now, consume! Nah. It was not for me.

Great acting performances by the three. Some of the scenes were gripping, but the story as a whole was not. Good elements, but the overall package will probably be forgotten tomorrow.
