There are a lot of similarities between the plot of this film and Altman's later adaptation of _Popeye_.... even in the way McCabe and Popeye mutter to themselves under their breath. [spoiler]Both are about a stranger who comes to town and enters a partnership with a woman in an enterprise that greedy men want to take and use for their own gain.[/spoiler] And as long as you are comparing and contrasting, go watch _Popeye_ at the 1:07:00 mark, [spoiler]and you will see a cameo of Mrs. Miller, high on opium and staring into a porcelain vase from the last scene in this film![/spoiler]

Not your typical action filled western. It was raw, overall well-made and I liked the acting. The story line was a bit slow imho
