Finally, we're getting our grand finale for Ti West's X Trilogy, and I was so fortunate to see the premiere with a Q&A with the man himself! This was very interesting because he shared some insights about the whole journey to get these movies made and what he wanted to achieve.

For me, it's kinda hard not to be biased about MaXXXine because I just love Pearl so much. It is one of the best movies in recent years and jumped instantly into my top horror movies of all time. Mia Goth's performance paired with the style of the movie is just perfect. It's my Roman Empire.

MaXXXine is certainly different from Pearl and X, just as Pearl is different from X. Not only the whole vibe, but also how it all plays out. But I feel that adapts to the era, since everything moves faster each day. We're now getting a thrilleresque and gritty look into the void of Hollywood and how Maxine Minx will fight through it. Whatever it takes. I am not a big sucker for the 80s vibe since there is so much stuff out there about this period, and I feel some things could have been a little bit different. But it kinda it what makes the whole trilogy so special. Instead of recycling the same thing over and over again, like many other franchises do, we have three distinct movies which are still connected. Same-same, but different. I am excited to revisit all of these movies on a regular basis.

Overall, I had a blast watching MaXXXine. Loved the soundtrack, the nods to the other movies, the devotion to detail in everything, the gore and all the crazy performances.

And Mia Goth.
