A biopic about Lucile Ball, covering her life from childhood, through her rise to fame with I Love Lucy.
The production is really all that is holding this back from being great. It has the look and feel of a made-for-tv movie, which is likely what it is. Still, it's well made, and has some moving moments.
Rachel York does a marvelous job in the lead role.
The movie itself is a drama, but does play out with a fun and light mood. We get some of the big moments from the Lucy show. We get some of the personal moments between the Arnaz family. The movie never gets too heavy while dealing with the behind-the-scenes turmoil. Overall, a good watch for anyone who likes drama, but in particular for fans of Ball herself.
I can't say I loved _Lucy_, but it did enough right to get a recommend from me.
