I went into this thinking it would be another exercise in Indiana Jones style map transitions showing where our characters have been and where they're going. If anything I was wondering if Vin Diesel pulled a Tommy Wiseau and only made this film to make out with your Michelle Rodriguez in X exotic location or just green screen it.

I came out thinking, "wow Vin Diesel actually sort of knows what he's doing." And "these Fast Films should focus on the struggles of these regional locales they visit and how with their resources they get into similar crazy things more often. What's your grind." I loved the moment's explored between Letty and Dom, the markings of a romance. The speech about society and the prison money machine was real, I didn't think we would be getting lectured about gas shortages, prices, and the failures of society but it was a welcome change. Until it ended and they didn't do anything about it. The lack of vroom vroom and pew pew made me wonder what was so fast or furious. A balance between the two would be nice rather than flying tanks from the sky.

If there were actually races and gear head talk in this, I'd say this was one of the better if not the best F&F Film. If it actually did something with the issues it brought up in the beginning if even say, without being attached to the rest of the series this would be a great stand alone art film. But with no real chase and no real... anything... happening in not sure this is really a film at all. More a blog update for the characters. Perfect I guess for a preamble into the next one.

The only thing jumped in this one that I can remember was Dom's lap while driving.
